Betty Marion White was born in Oak Park, Illinois, on January 17, 1922. When Betty was just one year old, her parents moved to California. During the Great Depression, her father sought better opportunities in Los Angeles, struggling to make ends meet for her, selling crystal radios and often bartering for necessities.
